Created by Sebrae (Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service), CRAB opened its doors in 2016 as a platform dedicated to repositioning and qualifying the artisan’s activity. Beyond highlighting the diverse range of Brazilian crafts, CRAB serves as both a study hub and a commercial nexus. Its 80-seat auditorium hosts seminars, debates, and business interactions aimed at expanding the craft market.
During the creation of the Center's wayfinding system, we considered the architectural nuances of the building, including its materials. So, we opted for a lightweight material that could be effortlessly affixed to various wall types.
In addition, the elements of color, texture, typography, and finishing were all meticulously crafted to provide CRAB visitors with comfort, security, modernity, and visual allure. In general, the text and pictograms are precision-cut from gray acrylic that has been painted. Beneath this layer, another piece of acrylic is attached, featuring black paint on the front and gray on the side. The assembly is affixed to a lightweight wooden board that acts as a base for wall mounting. In spaces where the surface comprises glass, adhesive elements are utilized for attachment.
