Being the first Design School in Brazil and one of the main in Latin America, Esdi - Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial - was facing the threat of closing its doors in 2017. Funded by the State Government of Rio de Janeiro, the school was going through an unprecedented crisis with the absence of conditions to maintain its regular activities.
Faced with the crisis, students, alumni, teachers, employees and volunteers dedicated to articulate ways to keep the school running. Throughout 2017, in a movement we called Esdi Aberta, management, teaching and knowledge exchange alternatives were created due to the instability and the challenges faced by the School.
I was involved in designing and coordinating the execution of communication materials for the movement's activities. My objective was to evoke a sense of urgency and strength, a goal achieved through stamp-like language, bold typefaces, and strategic repetitions.
